Mikaël Cherel : “Happy to do this race”
“After Paris-Nice, I took some time to recover. I then put in two good weeks of training to be ready for the month of April. Two years after my last participation, I am happy to return to this special and difficult event where the best climbers of the peloton will be at the start. Alex Geniez will be the team leader with the goal of winning a stage. For myself, I hope I have opportunities to have a little fun of my own. In the Basque Country, the climb gradients play an important role, and with the narrow roads, it is necessary to be constantly well placed. I like this kind of race profile, though. After The Basque Country, I will then head to the week of racing in the Ardennes with the Amstel Gold race, the Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.”MIKAEL CHEREL
Third in 2014, Jean-Christophe Péraud is the only AG2R LA MONDIALE rider to have stood on the podium at this Spanish race.
